Where to actually put your QR codes on the day

The design is the easy part. Here's what to think about once it's time to get codes onto real tables.

Practical logistics Sizing & placement tips

How many do you need

One per table is the safe default — propped against a centrepiece or leant on a stand, where whoever's sitting closest can reach it without standing up. For long banquet tables, one every six to eight seats keeps it within easy reach.

Size and placement that actually scan

A code under 5cm square gets fiddly for a phone camera to lock onto from a seated distance — 7 to 10cm is the sweet spot on a table card. Avoid laying it flat under glassware or candles; a slight lean toward the room scans far more reliably than flat on the cloth.

Beyond the tables

A second code at the bar or guestbook table catches anyone who missed theirs, and one on the order of service means guests scanning from their seat during the speeches, not just once they've sat down to eat.
